Will You Vote to Cut Your Own Business Taxes?

How often can you lower your own taxes? You can do just that if you help get Proposition 9 passed in the November constitutional amendment election.

Proposition 9 would significantly increase your tax exemption on business personal property, such as furniture and computers.

Higher Exemption Means You Owe Less

Right now, you can only exempt $2,500 of the market value of your business personal property. If voters approve Proposition 9, the tax exemption jumps to $125,000. That could save your business hundreds of dollars or more each year.

Prop. 9 Means Less Work for You

Also, if the total of your business personal property is worth less than $125,000, you no longer have to report it to the appraisal district. That saves you time and money that you can reinvest in your business.

Your Agents Benefit, Too

Proposition 9 would also help your agents who are independent contractors; they will also be able to exempt $125,000 of business personal property in their businesses.
